Clear reasons.
Considered combinations.
We build editorial combinations of hardware and software around a specific job, space, market and scope. A configuration is useful only when you can understand its choices and its limitations.
Hard constraints come first
Our deterministic catalog engine checks sockets, memory types, form factors, cooling clearance, power supply recommendations, audio dependencies, display connections, desk geometry and software platforms. Every check returns compatible, incompatible or unverified. An incompatible configuration cannot win because of its style or affiliate commission.
Evidence has a name and a date
Manufacturer specifications, third-party measurements and editorial conclusions are different kinds of claims. Each material catalog fact links to the source that supports it. We have not physically tested these complete configurations, and we do not invent FPS, latency or export times.
The budget is only as complete as its inputs
Regional price references are dated observations from the identified official source, not a current checkout quote. Authorized commercial prices, when connected, have a separate expiry. A missing or expired price is excluded, and a partial subtotal never certifies the entire setup within a budget. US and UK prices are not converted into one another.
Your choices have priority
You choose what the budget includes. Existing equipment can be excluded from the purchase list, a product can be locked, and alternatives can be evaluated with the same rules. An unidentified laptop, BIOS version or cable capability stays unverified.
Different options need different reasons
The engine returns up to three viable catalog alternatives with explanations. It uses a reproducible heuristic, not a claim of a global mathematical optimum or an arbitrary match percentage. If a budget cannot be verified, the candidate is identified as unverified rather than quietly relaxing your limit.
Updates earn their place
Official source changes create candidates. Structured validation and publication policy determine whether an update is published or held. Only dependent setups are versioned; a successful scheduled check does not move an editorial review date. High-risk conflicts are held for resolution. Current automatic sources cover OBS releases, Valve Counter-Strike 2 news, Steam release-announcement RSS and AMD hardware announcements. Historical announcement dates are preserved. An announcement alone never establishes product compatibility, availability or measured performance.
Commercial independence
Affiliate commission is excluded from the suitability score. Unmonetized official products and free software can win. No commercial API is required for the configurator to work.
